Courses taught at AP Music School: Private Piano and Rudiments Theory
Kayla is currently a student at University of Calgary, pursuing a Bachelor of Education. She has been teaching the summer camps at the University of Calgary since 2014.
Kayla began her piano studies at the age of eight. She has achieved First Class Honours with Distinction throughout her Royal Conservatory of Music theory and piano examinations. Kayla has performed at many concerts around Calgary and other cities with her school band. She was selected to play for the Calgary honour band as a section leader and teacher. Kayla is currently a pianist at the Vietnamese Church in Calgary, thus she has earned a considerable amount of experience in accompanying and improvising. She has competed at the Kiwanis/Calgary Performing Arts Festival and won 2nd place twice in 2013 and 2014. Kayla has also won 6 gold medals in the Alberta International Band Festival. She demonstrates strong leadership skills through many events, including concerts which AP Music School hosted. Kayla is currently completing her Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music and pursuing an ARCT diploma in Piano Performance.
Kayla has a strong passion in music, especially in teaching piano. She is looking forward to meet her new students.
